Planning Your Spring Garden
Even though winter has hit with a vengeance in many parts of the country it is not too early to start thinking about a spring garden. It helps to have a plan for the garden. A garden planner plus a garden machinery can help an individual plant the garden the right way so that they can maximize the garden space. It is often good to be able to plan the garden so that it is right for your type of soil and allows the individual to plant everything they would like. Some gardens may be "zen" in nature and do not require crops at all. Nonetheless, a garden planner will help to design the garden that will work for you.
Pick the Plants that are right for your type of soil
Individual's soil composition differs greatly. People who have a great deal of clay in their soil are going to have a different type of garden than someone who has sandy or porous soil. When an individual has an idea of the type of garden they want herbal, flower, vegetable or something else. They can pick plants that are going to work for them. Remember it is important to have plants that are going to be compatible with your temperature, environmental conditions and amount of sunlight that is available, and they should design their garden space accordingly. Some individuals will also gather ideas from seed catalogs as to what they want to plant and what sort of space is needed to plant the formations they so desire. Remember some crops need to be rotated year to year.
Many Garden Designs
There are many types of garden designs, one is contemporary garden design. They can range from raised beds to just a basic plot in the earth. A competent garden planner will want to maximize the space in their garden. Thus when planning a garden they will want to decide on the type of garden that they want, the dimensions and then map it out. It may be helpful to even take a picture of the garden before you plant so that you can have a before and after picture. It may also help to have an actual physical depiction of the space rather than having to rely on a mental image alone.
Plot the Garden
After planning what you want in the garden and looking o see what space is available and having a map envisioned an individual will then want to plot out the garden space. They will actually take the space they have
and decide where to plant items they wish to grow. Remember planting tall plants to short plants is a step down process. An individual will want to make sure their tall plants don't overshadow the short ones and block them from getting the sun. Try to plant your garden where the soil is light and porous, and avoid clays if possible. The garden planner will also try to avoid driveways and other high traffic areas. Taking all of the above steps into consideration will help to insure that an individual has a thoughtful and well designed garden in the Spring
